For about 20 years, Prof. Dr. rer. nat. habil. Schumann, holder of the Chair of Hydrology and Water Management, is concerned with the prevention of floods along with his team - a topic that carries high social relevance.

On Thursday, March 28, 2019, he received the award at the annual "Day of Hydrology". Besides that, the German Hydrological Society honors the scientist for his outstanding achievements in hydrology in the German-speaking area and awards him a lifetime honorary membership.
