The Tiny House lecture series is entering its final round. The highlights of the project were two excursions taking place last weekend - on Saturday to the Tiny House joinery Diekmann in Hamm and on Sunday to Vereniging Aardehuis (Earthships Community) in Olst, NL.
On July, 30, 2019 the lecture series ends with the final presentations of the Tiny House designs, which were developed by the participating students in small groups. The task was to work together to develop a sustainable building or living concept and to refer to the content of the individual presentations of the lecture series. The final designs will be presented in the form of a short presentation as well as a design or model (either as a 3D printing, lasercutter or cardboard model, CAD drawing, etc.).
Topics discussed during the lectures, which are to be taken into consideration in the planning of the design, include planning steps for a tiny house, space-saving furniture design, living in a small living space: psychological aspects in a comparative culture perspective, Domo Parva. The small house in history, sustainable construction and insulation materials and material recycling, building biology and indoor climate, Tiny Houses in urban planning, soft criteria for choosing a residential location in connection with construction law, land use and surface sealing: causes, impacts and monitoring, water and energy cycles in sustainable housing options, financial options of a Tiny House.
Interested persons are welcome to attend. We are looking forward to the results!
