On Thursday, May 5, 2022, representatives of the Federal Office for Building and Regional Planning (BBR) and the associated Federal Institute for Research on Building, Urban Affairs and Spatial Development (BBSR) visited the faculty to gain insights into the current state of research in the field of digitization in the building industry under the chair of Prof. Markus König and to explore possible cooperation interfaces.
This included research and developments in the areas of augmented and virtual reality, artificial intelligence, machine learning and robotics, as well as digital data management and building information modeling. The question of how the latest research results can be implemented in practice was also discussed.

The Federal Office for Building and Regional Planning (BBR) is a higher federal authority responsible for federal construction. The tasks of the BBR include the supervision of construction matters of the Federal Republic of Germany in Berlin, Bonn and abroad as well as construction, urban and spatial research.
