The Chair of Tunnelling and Construction Management has been operating the Sprayed Concrete Testing Unit for Tunnelling (SCOTT) in the KIBKON hall since the mid-1980s. Now, after long planning, the installation of the new enclosure of the sprayed concrete test stand took place.
The central element of the system is a KUKA industrial robot with which controlled movements of the spraying nozzle can be carried out and thus comparative tests can be carried out in a reproducible manner. The old enclosure of the stand had to give way in the course of the construction of a new concrete mixing plant. In the process, the test stand is being completely overhauled so that better test monitoring, even more precise control and live video monitoring of the tests with the option of live streaming will be possible in the future.
