Organised by the Chair of Urban Water Management and Environmental Engineering, last Thursday (16 March 2023) prospective A-level students from the Lessing School in Bochum were given a wide range of insights into the tasks of civil and environmental engineers.
The morning at the faculty started with a general overview and initial information about the Voluntary Academic Year at the RUB. For whom is the FWJ suitable and what do you do as an FWJ student? Afterwards, the pupils visited various laboratories at the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering, including the boundary layer wind tunnel of the Wind Engineering and Fluid Mechanics group, the hydrology laboratory of the Chair of Engineering Hydrology and Water Resources Management, and the new laboratory of the Chair of Foundation Engineering, Soil and Rock Mechanics. The PR team has compiled a few impressions in a picture gallery.
