New member of the North Rhine-Westphalian Academy of Sciences, Humanities and the Arts

Prof Mark Akademie der Künste

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Peter Mark, Head of the Chair of Concrete and Masonry Structures, was formally inducted into the North Rhine-Westphalian Academy of Sciences, Humanities and the Arts on 8 May 2024.

In addition to Prof. Dr. Peter Mark, Prof. Dr. Viktoria Däschlein-Gessner, holder of the Chair of Inorganic Chemistry at Ruhr University, is one of the ten new members of the North Rhine-Westphalian Academy of Sciences, Humanities and the Arts.

Prof. Dr. Peter Mark is a full member of the class for engineering and economics.

The Academy only admits excellent researchers and artists. The members are in regular dialogue with politics, business and culture as well as with scientific institutions in Germany and abroad. According to the statutes, anyone who has distinguished themselves through scientific or artistic achievements can be elected. The Academy currently has around 270 full members (based in NRW) and almost 140 corresponding members. Below you will find an interview with Prof. Mark from the Academy.
