In the episode “Wood - A decisive raw material for climate protection” of the TV program “KlimaZeit”, produced by Hessischer Rundfunk and Südwestrundfunk, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Annette Hafner, Head of the Chair of Resource Efficient Building, answers questions on the topic of wood as a sustainable building material.

According to Prof. Hafner, the lightweight building material wood offers important potential, particularly for existing buildings, for example with regard to prefabrication processes and short construction site times. Prof. Hafner went on to explain why the focus should not only be on wood as a building material in order to build resource-efficiently.

“KlimaZeit” is the first weekly ARD climate program and provides background information, involves experts with regard to new research results, questions political decisions and offers examples for consumers, companies and municipalities to counteract climate developments.
