On March 26, 2025, the decentralized equal opportunities team at the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering invited interested women to a networking workshop.
Networks are key resources in everyday working life. But how can we build, expand and strengthen our personal network when we are new? What values are our network based on? What roles do we take on? These and other questions were addressed by 25 women from the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering as part of the workshop “Actively using and strengthening women's networks - successful collaboration at the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering”.
Under the direction of Heike Schubert (https://www.com-sense.eu/), who has been supporting the faculty's mentoring program “BreakING” with her coaching since the beginning, the participants, who work in the areas of science, technology and administration at the faculty, dealt with central questions and challenges on the topic of “women's networks”. After brief inputs from Heike Schubert, the participants were given the opportunity to define individual network goals and values, reflect on their roles in the network and exchange personal experiences in a suitable atmosphere in several exercises. The first coaching tips could be applied directly. A final networking exchange rounded off the workshop program.
